RCA Names James M. Alic Group Vice President

Election of James M. Alic as a group vice president of RCA Corporation was announced today by Roy H. Pollack, executive vice president.

As a group vice president, Mr. Alic will continue the development of RCA's strategic plan for "SelectaVision" VideoDisc in the United States and abroad. He will provide the coordination and integration required among all RCA activities involved in the project. He also has direct responsibility for the video discs manufacturing activity at the Rockville Road plant in Indiana and for the RCA Service Company.

Mr. Alic makes his headquarters in New York and reports to Roy H. Pollack.

Earlier this year, Mr. Alic had been elected vice president, electronic services and videodisc operations, by the RCA Board of Directors.

Mr. Alic joined the RCA Corporate Staff in 1970 and, after holding several posts in the Corporate Planning activity, was named staff vice president, profit analysis, in 1972. Later that year, he was appointed staff vice president, financial planning.

In 1973 Mr. Alic transferred to the Consumer Electronics Division in Indianapolis. Two years later, he was named division vice president, operations, for the RCA Consumer Electronics Division, where he was responsible for the worldwide manufacturing and engineering activities of Consumer Electronics' TV operations.

From 1977 to 1979 he was an executive vice president with the National Broadcasting Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RCA Corporation. He then rejoined RCA as a staff vice president, business management and controls, for RCA "SelectaVision" VideoDisc.

Prior to joining RCA, Mr. Alic was associated with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.

A native of Birmingham, Michigan, Mr. Alic is a graduate of Northwestern University and holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago.
